We had three workshops in total teaching us how to handle the camera and sound equipment.
I wasn't present in two workshops. Regardless, I took notes from some colleagues that attended the two previous workshops.
Workshop #1
- We were taught how to use a Black Magic Camera.
- Learned how to focus- zooming in onto the subject, focusing the subject's face, zooming to desired shot angle, etc.
- Learned about white balance, technique for adjusting the video's tone.
- Learned about various lighting styles- indoor and outdoor lighting.
- How to adjust the camera stand, height- tightening the bottom levers to stabilise the camera stand, making it easier to lift the stand.
Workshop #2
- Use the cameras to record a small sequence.
- Variation of different shots of an action sequence.
Workshop #3
- Filmed a sequence with dialogue to learn how to apply/edit sound.
